Talismans are one of the easiest ways to tune an Elden Ring build without changing the core weapon, spell or armor setup. Use them to solve a specific problem rather than filling slots with generic bonuses.

Match the talisman to the build
A Strength build, Dexterity build and sorcery build often want different support. Start with the character's main job, then choose talismans that reinforce damage, sustain or survivability for that role.
Match the talisman to the encounter
Boss-specific adjustments can be more valuable than using the same four talismans everywhere. If an encounter punishes stamina, survivability or a specific damage pattern, change one slot to address that problem.
Avoid theoretical-only choices
A talisman that increases maximum damage is not automatically useful if the condition rarely happens in your normal play. Favor bonuses you can activate reliably.
