Terraria fishing can provide crates, quest fish, potion ingredients and progression resources. Productive fishing starts with knowing what you are trying to obtain.
Biome and height matter
Fishing results depend on where the pool is located. Surface, underground and biome context can all change the possible catches.
Fishing power
Rod quality, bait and other bonuses affect fishing power. Improve the weakest part of the setup first instead of assuming a new rod alone solves everything.
Pool quality
A better fishing spot makes repeated sessions more reliable. If results feel unusually poor, check whether the pool itself is large and valid enough before farming more bait.
