Spring crop planning is easiest when you separate three questions: how long a crop takes to reach its first harvest, whether it regrows, and how many days remain before the season ends.
Start with the calendar
Every normal season lasts 28 days. Before planting a large field, check the current day and count forward to the first harvest. A crop that looks profitable on day 1 may be a poor choice if planted too late.
Regrow versus single harvest
Regrowing crops become more useful when planted early enough to produce multiple harvests. Single-harvest crops are easier to reason about late in the season because you only need enough time for one complete growth cycle.
Farm capacity matters
Profit is not the only constraint. Watering time, sprinkler coverage, seed cost and how often you want to harvest can all change which crop is practical for your farm.
Spring planning note
Spring is the first season of a new save, so cash flow and watering capacity can matter as much as raw long-term return. Avoid expanding the field faster than you can reliably maintain it.
