Baldur's Gate 3 Paladin Build

A Paladin planning hub for frontline, burst damage and support-oriented parties.

Paladin combines martial pressure, defensive presence and spell resources, making it one of BG3's most flexible frontline classes. Build planning starts with deciding whether the character should stay single-classed or trade some Paladin progression for features from another class.

Choose the main role

  • Frontline durability
  • Burst melee damage
  • Party support
  • Charisma-based dialogue utility
  • Multiclass foundation

Weapon and defense choice

A two-handed setup usually points toward more aggressive melee pressure, while a shield-oriented setup can make the character easier to keep on the frontline. Pick one direction before selecting feats and equipment.

Spell resource planning

Paladin spell slots are valuable because they support both utility and burst turns. Spend them around important moments instead of treating every attack as if it needs maximum resource use.

Single-class versus multiclass

Multiclassing can add useful features, but every level outside Paladin delays or removes something from deeper Paladin progression. Use the level planner to test a split before committing to it.

Feat planning

Choose feats that reinforce the main role: damage, durability, concentration support or weapon style. Avoid collecting unrelated bonuses that do not improve the character's actual job in the party.
